Earlier this fall, these Wooden boxes
with clear covers were installed at Latham Park in Lincoln by the
Logan County Board. Some may have wondered what that was all about. |

Well now, the whole story is
clear, the story book that is. The County Board and the Lincoln
Public Library are teaming up to bring an interactive activity to
the park that involves walking and reading.
Currently the story line that unfolds as visitors traverse the
sidewalks in the park are from the book “How to Catch a Reindeer.” |

Called a “Story Walk” the concept was
first introduced by Anne Furgeson of Montpelier Vermont who
partnered with the Kellog-Hubbard Library in that community. The
idea has spread around the country with good reception from park
goers.
The Logan County Board and the local library will continue the
practice of story walks with the books changing from time to time so
that those who visit the first time, will have something new to look
forward to in a few weeks. |
