Obituary
Robert L. “Peewee” Merreighn, 64,
passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at his
home surrounded by the love of his family after a
courageous 5 year battle with head and neck cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday,
January 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Atlanta.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.
m. on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Peasley
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
A Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. prior to
the visitation.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
Robert Lee Merreighn was born on March 11, 1958 in
Lincoln the son of Wilford “Bill” and Beverly (Ealy)
Merreighn.
He is survived by his children: Ty Merreighn, Casey
(Lyndsay) Merreighn, His grandchildren: Tyler & Trey
Merreighn, Emma Upton, Kacelynn & Tate Merreighn,
Trey Hebert & Chad Merreighn Jr. His soul mate in
life & love for 27 years : Janice Ayers Stewart. His
siblings: Norma Langly, Scott (Laura) Gaddy, Todd
Gaddy, Shawn (Angie) Gaddy, additional children:
David (Michelle) Daggett, Mary Kay (Jacob) Snyder,
additional grandchildren: Dylan Duvall, Baylee
Cronin, Steven Buchanan, Preston Daggett, Briana
Daggett, additional great granddaughter: Lilah
Daggett, Numerous aunts, uncles cousins, nieces and
nephews and friends. |
He was preceded in death by his
parents, one son: Chad Merreighn, siblings: Billie
Merreighn, Tami Merreighn Huskins, Cherie Merreighn,
Donnie Merreighn, Cheryl Feese.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Peewee graduated from the Lincoln Community High
School in 1976. He retired from Lincoln Wastewater
Treatment Plant after 42 years of service on
September 11, 2021.
He is a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church,
Eagles Aerie # 2708, where he served as a Trustee
for many years, Sons of the American Legion Post
263, Knights of Columbus Council # 1250.
He was and avid Cardinal baseball fan. He also
enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool.
