Lincoln was on the road Thursday night to face the
Taylorville Tornadoes and the Railers added another win to their
season by defeating the hosts 72-27.
The Railers came in like a wrecking ball against the Tornadoes,
storming out to a 20-0 first quarter lead. Jake Bivin scored seven
points in the first quarter to guide the Railers out to a big lead.
Drew Hayes poured in six points early on and Camden Nelson added
five points. Payton Cook’s bucket rounded out the first quarter
scoring.
In the second quarter, Lincoln built a 37-13 lead. Nelson drained
two 3s and with Bivin, Hayes and Cook dominating the Tornadoes with
their size, the lead was inevitable.
Nelson made two more 3s in the third quarter and Cook and Trey
Schilling also got in on the action from beyond the arc. The Railers
led 57-23 at the end of the third quarter.
It was time to end this one quickly in the fourth quarter. The bench
players combined for 15 points in the final eight minutes. Cadge
Kingsley tossed in six points, Connor Meagher had five points and
Frank Sanders and Darren Stevens each had a basket.
Lincoln beats Taylorville by a final score of 72-27.
Four Railers placed in double-figures: Camden Nelson (17), Payton
Cook (13) Jake Bivin (12) and Drew Hayes (11).
Lincoln improves to 21-4 on the season.
