The Railers were on the road Tuesday night to take on the
Mount Zion Braves and it was a really close battle between the top
two teams in the Apollo Conference. In the end, Mount Zion pulled
away to win 45-34.
Lincoln had a 7-4 lead after the first quarter. Ki’on Carson had a
three in the first quarter and Payton Cook and Jake Bivin each
tossed in a basket.
At the half the Railers were up 21-17, with Camden Nelson scoring
six points and Cook adding five points. Trey Schilling added a three
in the second quarter.
Carson Cuddy, a 6’8 senior, poured in eight points in the fourth
quarter as the Braves began to pull away from Lincoln. After three
quarters of play, the Braves were on top 30-26.
Mount Zion outscored Lincoln 15-8 in the fourth quarter and went on
to win by a final score of 45-34.
Payton Cook led Lincoln with nine points.
Lincoln falls to 22-5 overall on the season. The Railers are 8-2 in
the Apollo Conference.
Mount Zion improved to 25-2 on the season. The Braves are 10-0 in
the Apollo Conference.
Lincoln won the JV game by a final score of 45-41.
Blake Horn led the Railers with 16 points. Gabe Smith scored 13
points and Frank Sanders added 10 points.

Lincoln will travel to Effingham on Friday night.
The JV will tip-off at 6 p.m. The Varsity will start at 7:30 p.m.
