[February 17, 2023]  BLOOMINGTON - Kevin M. Rees, 68, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughter.

Visitation:  Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Living Hope Christian Church in Downs

Service: Celebration of Life Service, Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the church

Funeral home: Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta

Obituary

Kevin M. Rees, 68, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughter.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Living Hope Christian Church in Downs, Ill. with Pastor Mark Moore officiating.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Kevin Mark Rees was born on May 2, 1954, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, the son of William W. and Laurette Coleman Rees. He was united in marriage to Yvonne Watkins on March 12, 1977. She survives.

Kevin is also survived by one daughter: Katheryn A. (Jesse) Rees Angri; twin brothers: Keith (Lisa) Rees and Kerry (Rita) Rees; and one sister: Kelli Rees.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Patricia Starr and Lois Rees.
 

Funeral Director

Kevin graduated from the Dekalb Community College in Atlanta, Georgia. He retired from State Farm Insurance as a Computer Analyst. He also co-owned Hog Grins Catering while living in Georgia.

He had many hobbies over his lifetime: cooking, barbecuing, gardening, flower arranging, building things with his hands, building Bible school sets, hunting and camping, acting and singing in church plays and singing bass in the church quartet. He also enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or MidWest Food Bank.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
