Obituary
Dianna Whiteman, 67, of Lincoln
passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at
Springfield Memorial Hospital.
Dianna was born on August 31, 1955, in Lincoln, the
daughter of Malen Wheeler Petro and Elaine (Shoots)
Melroy. She married Randall Whiteman on June 29,
1974, at the Lincoln Christian Church. He survives
her.
Dianna is also survived by her daughters, Shannon
(Chris) Moore and Tracy (Brian) Watkins of Lincoln;
sister, Roxanna Henderson; brother, Rick Melroy;
grandsons, Austin (Schyler), Bryant, Justice
(Ashley), and Terry (Kay); as well as Bryce Watkins;
eight great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, second
father, Russell Melroy; stepmother, Doris Petro;
brother, Ernest Petro; one great-grandson; and her
beloved son, Randy Joseph Whiteman. |
Dianna enjoyed going for car rides
with her husband, Randy, daily to see the deer at
the local parks and spending time with her children
and grandchildren. She was a gentle soul with a
loving heart. Dianna will be sorely missed by all
who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Services for Dianna will be held at 11 a.m. on
Thursday, February 9, 2023, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A
visitation will take place two hours prior to the
service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A private family
burial will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made in Dianna’s name to Ronald
McDonald House Charities or St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital.
