The Lady Toppers had a 20-14 lead at the end of
the first quarter. Alyson Murphy, Kenzie Chandler and Hailee
Daigh each tossed in 3s as Mount Pulaski was hot early.
The Lady Toppers momentum carried into the second quarter but
Cerro Gordo also turned things up a notch. By halftime Mount
Pulaski was holding on to a 32-31 lead.
The Lady Toppers pulled away from Cerro Gordo in the third
quarter with a 47-35 lead.
Murphy shot 6-for-6 from the line in the fourth quarter as the
Lady Toppers went on to victory, 58-47 the final score.
Alyson Murphy led Mount Pulaski with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
Alexis Wade had 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Hailee Daigh had 10 points and 5 rebounds.
Mount Pulaski improved to 25-8 on the season.
The Lady Toppers advance to the Class 1A Sectional Tournament at
Lexington. Mount Pulaski will play Cissna Park at 6 p.m. on
Tuesday.
