ICC got the first 5 points to start the game,
although the Loggers made the next two buckets to get back to
even, those first 5 points set the tone. Illinois Central
College controlled the game nearly the rest of the way. The
Cougars of ICC got up by as many as 7 points in that first
frame. Illinois Central College out-rebounded LLCC in the first
half by 7, committed 5 less turnovers, and shot better from all
three aspects of the court to take a 29-23 lead into the second
half. Those same stats carried over to the second half. The
Loggers last real chance came when trailing 43-39 an open look
from three went just wide. For LLCC, the flood gates opened
there. Illinois Central went on a 11-3 run, and a 20-5 run over
all to lead by the game high of 17. Although Lincoln Land was
able to cut into that, they never were able to string enough
stop and scores to get within 10.
Kyle Leonard was the Loggers leading scorer with 16. Michael
Ousley got to 14, Camren Kincaid 12, and Axel Laby ended with 10
to be the other Loggers in double digits.
LLCC falls to 9-14 on the season and 3-4 in the conference.
