The NFL world awaits Rodgers' decision, with
the Packers and other interested parties eager to be enlightened
regarding his football future.
"It's an opportunity to do a little self-reflection in some
isolation and after that, I feel like I'll be a lot closer to
that final, final decision," the four-time NFL MVP said recently
on "The Pat McAfee Show" about the retreat. "I've had a number
of friends who've done it and they had profound experiences."
Scott Berman, owner of Sky Cave Retreats, told ESPN that
Rodgers' repose was spent in a 300-square-foot room that is
devoid of natural light. There are lights that can be turned on
inside the room, however.
Rodgers had a queen bed, a bathroom and a meditation-like mat.
Rodgers, 39, maintained he's undecided about playing in 2023 --
with the Packers or another team. Retirement is also an option.
Reports last week indicated Rodgers could be open to a trade
with the Las Vegas Raiders -- and a reunion with former Green
Bay receiver Davante Adams -- and New York Jets considered top
potential suitors. The Jets hired former Packers quarterbacks
coach and Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett as offensive
coordinator.
Rodgers is due $59.5 million in guaranteed money in 2023 and
$49.25 million in 2024.
