[February 25, 2023]  LINCOLN - Paul J. Parson, 70, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Care.

Visitation:  3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home

Obituary

Paul J. Parson, 70, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Care.

Paul was born on December 8, 1952, in Sewanee, TN, the son of Tommie and Ruby (Pickett) Parson. He married Gail Lemmer in October 1989 in Middletown. She preceded him in death in 2013.

Paul is survived by his daughters, Paula Parson, and Jennifer Parson-Seaman; son, Daniel Parson; grandchildren, Corrie, Bradeyn, Gavin, Devon, and Kylee; and his siblings, Ruth Meeks, Kathy Gee, Michael Parson, Christine May, Teresa Blalock, and Jimmy Parson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gail; and two brothers, Ralph, and Glenn Parson.

 

Paul proudly served in the Army National Guard. He worked for the Department of Corrections for nearly 30 years. Paul was an avid pool player and APA member, competing in local competitions and even had the chance to compete in Las Vegas. He enjoyed cooking; he made the best chili and cherry cheesecake. Paul was a jokester and had a great sense of humor.

A memorial service for Paul will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln where full military rites will be accorded. A visitation will take place two hours prior from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
