Lincoln Land - 56
Parkland College - 55
The Lincoln Land Loggers held on at the final buzzer to come away
victorious 56-55 to complete the season sweep over Parkland College.
Saturday afternoon was what would be referred to as a defensive
battle. The Loggers scored the first points of the game and did not
give up that lead in the first half. Although Lincoln Land raced out
to a lead of as many as 10, they went on a scoreless streak of
nearly 4:30 minutes before the half break. The break saw the Loggers
still ahead, 29-20.
Parkland was the aggressor early in the second half as they raced
right back into the contest by out scoring the Loggers 10-2 over the
first 4:00 of play. A few minutes later the Logger found themselves
trailing for the first time all day at 43-41. Immediately down the
floor the Loggers got a three point basket to get right back in
front. The two teams went back and forth trading the lead 6 times
until LLCC got the lead under 3:00 to play and did not give it back
up. The Loggers did push their advantage back out to 7 before
Parkland got back to back scores to get within 2.

Sophomore Michael Ousley, a hometown kid, had the ball in his hands
with the shot lock and game clock winding down, hit a driving pull
up to get the Loggers to 56, eventually being the winning total.
Parkland scored on the next possession and then immediately got a
steal to take possession under :15 trailing by 2. A Parkland drive
got called a foul with :03.2 left and luckily split the free throws.
Lincoln Land got the rebound and was able to run out the clock to
come away with the one point win!
Ousley, in what could be his final home game in a
Logger uniform, paced the Loggers with 19 points, to come away the
leading scorer on the afternoon. Ousley also got the team high of 9
rebounds barely missing a double-double in the afternoon. Axel Laby
was the only other Logger to get past double digits in points,
finishing with 11.
Lincoln Land improves to 11-15 on the season. The Loggers have a
week to prepare for their regular season finale in Danville against
the Jaguars next Saturday afternoon.
