Obituary
Lois Merskin, 80, passed away on
Thursday, December 22, 2022, at her home.
Lois was born on June 22, 1942, in Lincoln, the
daughter of John and Dorothy (Shirley) Behrends. She
married John “Jack” Merskin on December 26, 1964. He
preceded her in death on August 14, 2020.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Heather (Joseph)
Hardin; grandchildren, Kathryn Peck, Tony Dallavalle,
and Jacki (Roland) Dallavalle-Hammons; and nine
great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband;
grandson-in-law, Travis Peck; and sisters, Jean
Shaffer, Marrianne Wagner, and Kay Mullins.
Lois was a generous and patriotic person to her
core. She loved music, especially listening to her
sisters play piano. Lois had a passion for Central
Illinois and the history that came with it. |
Private family services will be held
at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Lois’ name to The
Humane Society of Logan County or the Salvation
Army.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
