Scott Wedgewood stopped 25 shots for the Stars, who lost two
straight games in regulation time for the first time since Nov.
8 and Nov. 11. The Stars brought their fathers and mentors on a
road trip through Southern California but dropped both clashes
played on consecutive nights.
The Ducks went into the game with just one win in their last six
games and five victories in their previous 22, sending them to
the bottom of the Pacific Division, but they defeated the
Central Division-leading Stars.
Wild 5, Lightning 1
Calen Addison set a Minnesota rookie record with a goal and two
assists, Kirill Kaprizov scored twice to tie a team record, and
the Wild beat Tampa Bay in Saint Paul, Minn.
In producing three points for the second time in his career,
Addison became the first Wild rookie ever with multiple
three-point outings. Kaprizov extended his home point streak to
14 games, matching the mark set by Marian Gaborik in the 2007-08
season.
Joel Eriksson Ek and Sam Steel netted goals, Matt Boldy had two
assists and Filip Gustavsson made 34 saves for Minnesota.
Brayden Point tallied on the power play for the Lightning, and
Brian Elliott stopped 28 shots.
Devils 5, Red Wings 1
Dougie Hamilton, Jack Hughes, Alexander Holtz and Nico Hischier
all had a goal and an assist to lead New Jersey over host
Detroit.
Miles Wood had two assists and Vitek Vanecek made 32 saves for
New Jersey, which has won both games against the Red Wings in
Detroit this year.
Lucas Raymond scored a late goal for Detroit. Husso finished
with 22 saves for the Red Wings.
