Dillon Dube scored twice as the visiting Calgary Flames defeated the
St. Louis Blues 4-1 Thursday night.
Blake Coleman and Walker Duehr also scored for the Flames, who have
points in 16 of their last 20 games.
Tyler Toffoli and Elias Lindholm earned two assists apiece for
Calgary, and Dan Vladar made 25 saves.
Jake Neighbours scored for the Blues, and Thomas Greiss made 36
saves.
After blowing a 3-1 lead Tuesday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues
on Tuesday night in St. Louis, the Flames rebounded nicely in the
rematch. They outshot the Blues 40-26 and closed them out with
authority.
Both teams earned excellent scoring chances during the scoreless
first period.
Blues winger Brandon Saad got a clear breakaway, but he failed to
beat Vladar between the pads with a low shot.
Alexey Toropchenko burst up the right wing and tried to score while
crossing through the crease, but Vladar made the save.
Early in the second period, Noel Acciari moved in alone on Vladar,
but he failed to budge the goalie with a move to his forehand.

Duehr generated two-on-one rushes on consecutive shifts. He rushed
up right wing on both plays and he converted the second -- off Nazem
Kadri's cross-ice pass -- to put Calgary ahead 1-0 with his first
NHL goal.
Andrew Mangiapane nearly made it 2-0 shortly thereafter, but he rang
a shot off the crossbar. In the final minute of the period, he hit
the crossbar again.
Neighbours tied the game 1-1
just 20 seconds into the third period. After Acciari fanned on a
shot, Neighbours fired the loose puck past Vladar from a sharp
right-side angle.
The Flames retook the lead 2-1 with 9:10 left. Lindholm tipped the
puck to Dube in the low slot, and Dube lifted a shot under the
crossbar.
Coleman scored with a spinning backhand shot in the low slot to make
it 3-1, and Dube's empty-net goal made it 4-1.
