I do not think that you could find enough cleaning supplies to wipe
away the stench of Thursday night’s loss to IU.
It all started on such a good note as the Illini scored the first
four points, but it was all downhill from there on the way to an
80-65 loss. Illinois dug a huge hole for themselves, rallied to get
within ten at halftime, and really never threatened IU again the
rest of the contest.
To say it was disappointing isn’t even half of the story.
The Illini made a struggling IU contingent look like world beaters
as their vaunted defense had no grit and no stopping power. IU
seemingly did whatever they wanted all game long.

The loss dropped Illinois’ record to 13-6 on the
season and 4-4 in the Big Ten conference.
Illinois next will host Ohio State on Tuesday, January 24th at 6
p.m.
