Mount Pulaski clinches Tomahawk tie with 46-32 win over Illini Bluffs

The Lady Toppers visited Illini Bluffs on Thursday night for a
Tomahawk Conference matchup. With the 46-32 win over the Tigers,
Mount Pulaski tied for first place in the conference with Athens.
Mount Pulaski started the game with an 11-6 first quarter lead.
With Alyson Murphy and Alexis Wade each pouring in ten points in the
first half, the Lady Toppers were able to hold a 26-14 lead at
halftime. Je’na Rentmeister also had two 3s in the first half for
Mount Pulaski.
By the end of the third quarter, Mount Pulaski was on top 36-27.
The Lady Toppers were 8-of-11 from the free throw line in the fourth
quarter and with one more field goal from Murphy, the ladies had no
trouble with the 46-32 win.
Alyson Murphy led Mount Pulaski with 19 points. The freshman also
had 4 rebounds and 4 steals.
Alexis Wade had 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Grace Davis contributed 4 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.
Hailee Daigh had 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

Mount Pulaski improved to 19-6 on
the season.
There was no JV game.
The Lady Toppers will play at LeRoy on Monday. The JV game is
scheduled to start at 6 p.m. The Varsity will follow.
