[January 23, 2023]  ST. CLOUD FL - Mary E. Howard, 95, of St. Cloud, Fla., formerly of Armington and Bloomington, died at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2023, in her home.

Service: Graveside Service at Oak View Cemetery in Armington, at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023

Obituary

Mary E. Howard, 95, of St. Cloud, Fla., formerly of Armington and Bloomington, died at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2023, in her home.

A Graveside Service will be held at Oak View Cemetery in Armington, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023. Friends and family are invited for a light lunch at Armington Christian Church following the service.

Mrs. Howard was born July 13, 1927, in Decatur, a daughter of J. Edgar and Carmen Leonard. She married Morris Albert Howard on June 7, 1947, in Minier. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage before his death in 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (Paul) Peelman and Brenda Harmon, as well as five grandchildren: Joshua Morris Peelman, Keith Leonard (Cory) Harmon, Mary Kathleen Harmon Macias, Kelly David (Alicia) Harmon, and Kasey Howard (Jenny) Harmon. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Mary Macias, Braxton Macias, and Wyatt (Mary) Macias; McKayla Spencer, Clayton Harmon, and Kaylee (Kelly) Harmon, and Luke Harmon and Lyla (Kasey) Harmon, as well as three nieces and four nephews.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers James T. Leonard, John (Jack) Leonard, and Phillip J. Leonard; one sister, Emily S. Guettler; and son-in-law, Paul Peelman.

Mrs. Howard, a graduate of Lincoln High School, continued her education at Lincoln College and Illinois State (Normal) University, earning a Master’s degree in education.

Mrs. Howard taught 3rd and 4th grades in Minier for 30 years, before retiring from the Olympia School District in 1987. She was an amazing and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, very much beloved by her entire family. She was a member of Kissimmee Christian Church in Kissimmee, Florida.

Local arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
