[January 05, 2023]  Start the new year with a new commitment to join the friendly seniors and staff at the Oasis Senior Center in Lincoln.  Serving all of Logan County the Oasis offers informational workshops on timely topics for seniors, plus game days, day trips and much more.

Benefit Access - Tuesdays
Income eligible seniors could be eligible for a Secretary of State License Plate Discount. Call the Oasis or stop in to get an appointment.

Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs - January 3rd & January 17th from 9-3pm
Call Patrick at the VA to get an appt at 217-362-6645.

Diabetic Shoes
Medicare can assist diabetics in getting therapeutic shoes. Prescription from the doctor needed. Call the Oasis or stop in to get an appointment.

Medicare 101
January 9th at 12:00pm - Call the Oasis or stop in, to get added to the list for the class.

Senior Food Bank
January 12th from 10am-11:30am - no proof of income is required; we will have food for seniors in need in the community.

Caregiver Support Group
January 17th at 1:30pm - Hosted at the Oasis, this group is open to people with a diagnosis, caregivers, and people concerned about a future diagnosis.

Legal Aide
January 18th from 9am-3:00pm - Legal Aide will be available onsite for scheduled appointments. Call the Oasis or stop in to schedule an appointment.

Social Security
January 19th - Assistance in accessing Social Security Info available online: examples include Applying for benefits, see what benefits one is eligible for, change of address, replace Medicare card. Call the Oasis or stop in to get an appointment.

Fundraising Events
None this month.

Day Trips

Lunch at the Hornets' Nest in Heyworth - Wednesday January 18th, 2023.
The bus will leave at 12:15 - Call the Oasis or stop in to sign up.

Bowl a couple games with us at Logan Lanes in Lincoln - Monday January 23rd, 2023.
We will meet at Logan Lanes from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. - Call the Oasis or stop in to get added to the list. The fee to play for members/non-members is $12 and includes two games of bowling and shoe rental. Members will pay Logan Lanes directly - but in order to track numbers for RSVP - please get added to the list at the Oasis.
