Obituary
Marjorie L. “Margie” Polk, 72, of
Mount Pulaski, passed away at Springfield Memorial
Hospital on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
Margie was born on July 19, 1950, in Lincoln, to
Carl and Olive (Pope) Goodman Sr. She married Thomas
Polk Jr. on July 3, 1971, in Mount Pulaski, he
survives.
Also surviving is her daughter Christina Polk of
Mount Pulaski, four grandchildren: Ashley Polk,
Austin Waldrop, Olivia Waldrop, and Charles Polk and
her siblings: Violet Beck of Atlanta, Esther Gill of
Lincoln, Carl Goodman Jr. of Higginsville, MO and
Susan Roberts of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son
Thomas Polk III, and her siblings, Alice Geriets,
Gerald Goodman, Linda Goodman, Donald Goodman,
Dennis Goodman, Robert Goodman, and infant sister
Shelby. |
Margie was a member of Zion Lutheran
Church in Mount Pulaski. She was a hairdresser for
close to 50 years in the area. Also, she enjoyed
playing cards, going to garage sales and most of all
being with her grandchildren.
Services for Margie will be held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski with Rev. Jonathan Buescher officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to
services. Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
