LINCOLN -
Harlan G. "Ike" Atteberry, 95, of Lincoln, formerly of Beason,
passed away peacefully at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at The
Christian Village in Lincoln, surrounded by his family.

Visitation:
Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at
the Peasley Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:30
a.m. until the time of the funeral.
Service:
Friday, July 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral
home

Obituary
Harlan G. "Ike" Atteberry, 95, of
Lincoln, formerly of Beason, passed away peacefully
at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at The
Christian Village in Lincoln, surrounded by his
family.
Funeral Services for Harlan will be held on Friday,
July 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Peasley Funeral
Home in Lincoln with Mr. Ryan Edgecombe officiating.
Burial will be at the Keys Cemetery in rural Beason.

Post #263.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023,
from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley
Funeral Home.
Harlan was a lifelong farmer and longtime insurance
agent, as well as a board member and secretary for
Lincoln Logan May Enterprise. He was a member of the
Beason United Methodist Church, Korean War Veterans
Association, American Legion Post #263, and Lincoln
Elks Lodge #914. He served his country in the
military, stationed in Korea, attaining the rank of
Sargent in the 625th Field Artillery Battalion 40th
Infantry Division. Harlan served his community as a
little league baseball coach, Beason High School
Board member, Oran township clerk, and volunteer
fireman. |
Harlan was born on June 30, 1928, the
son of Orville B. and Edith Reising Atteberry. He
was united in marriage to Verna Josephine Voyles on
September 10, 1950, at the Beason United Methodist
Church. She preceded him in death on January 5,
2011.
Harlan is survived by his children: Gary (Judy)
Atteberry of Lincoln, Darren Atteberry of Lincoln,
and Dena (Dan) Sale of Chatham; four grandchildren:
Kyle and Katelyn Atteberry, and Evan and Madeline
Sale.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister:
Marilyn Knecht, and one son: James W. Atteberry.
Memorials may be made to Beason Fire Department or
Beason United Methodist Church.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley
Funeral Home of Lincoln.
