Obituary

Diane Maxine Park, 80, of Atlanta, passed away July 19, 2023 at St. Clara's Manor, Lincoln after a courageous battle with cancer.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Diane was born October 24, 1942, in Pekin, the daughter of Louis and Irene (Graham) Koch. She married Gary Park on April 8, 1961. They had two sons. Diane was a hard worker her entire life, working at Eaton Corporation (Cutler Hammer) for 16 years, Paul's Supermarket in Osage Beach, MO for 22 years, owned/operated Di’s Park Place outside of San Jose, and last worked managing the grocery store at Friendship Manor Apartments in Lincoln.

As an artist in oil paintings, she commissioned her work and taught painting lessons. Diane was a kind and compassionate soul who would freely give to help others in need. A free-spirit, Diane loved the outdoors and had a green thumb for growing all plants and flowers. She brought life, color and laughter to all around her and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son Robert Lowell Park and his wife Leanne of Petersburg, granddaughter Abigail Park of Muncie, IN, grandson Jerrit Park-White of TN; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Scott.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Care, Gentiva Hospice and Dr. Dru Hauter for their kindness and compassion.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
