Obituary

Robert J. Barry, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Arcadia Care Bloomington.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Robert "Bob" Barry was born on September 4, 1941, in Lincoln, the son of Richard J. and Frances M. (Jackson) Barry. He was the last of his immediate family.

Bob is survived by three nieces and a nephew: Gay Ann Barry, Stephanie (Mark) Butcher, Michele (Eric) Luce, Randall "Randy" Barry; three great nieces and four great nephews, six great great-nieces and two great-great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Richard "Dick” L. Barry and Roland "Rollie" M. Barry, one sister: Patricia Barry, sisters-in-law: Virginia "Ginny" Barry and Ruth Barry, and one great-nephew: Kyle Butcher.

Funeral Director

Bob graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1960. After graduating high school Bob served in the United States Air Force for four years in Germany. Upon his return, he held several jobs with the last being a self-employed handyman.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Lincoln Eagles #2708. His hobbies included boating and camping.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #263.
