Obituary
James C. Young , 92 of Lincoln passed
away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Lincoln Village
Healthcare Center 2202 Kickapoo St Lincoln.
Funeral Services for Mr. Young will be held on
Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the First
Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Blaum
officiating.
Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Springville
New York.
James Cameron Young was born in Sault Ste. Marie,
Michigan on May 20, 1931 the son of Harry (Harve)
and Ruth Elizabeth Madsen Young. He was united in
marriage to Gay Steward. She survives.
Also surviving are his children: Lynn Carleton, Jean
Young, Artie Horath, Karen (Keith) Crawford, Larry
(Tabitha) Jones. HIs grandchildren: Peter (Kim)
Huff, James (Amy) Huff, Nicholas (Andrea) Carleton,
Matthew (Caitlin Edwards) Huff, Gregory Huff,
William (Coco) Carleton, Michael (Stephanie)
Carleton, Ann Florey, Jay Horath, Amber (Darren)
Walker, Brianne (Mykal) Toliver, Kyle Crawford,
Hailey (Chase) Decker, Darcy (Eric ) Hepner. Nine
great grandchildren: Elma, Giulia, Liliana, Atalei,
Kota, Rowan, Myles, MacLyn, Merritt and 21 great
grandchildren he shares with Gay. James was also
proud to be an Uncle to Chris (Wende), Scott (Lynn),
and Sharon Pukay, Paige (Barry) Crunk and Gregory
(Kim) Young, Nancy and Wayne (Angie) Young.

James was preceded in death by his
two brothers and sister in laws Harry (Donna) and
Howard (Marjorie) Young and his sister Kay Pukay.
James Pukay, his brother in law, survives.
James graduated from Kensington High
School in Buffalo, New York and then from Alfred AG
and Tech in Alfred, New York. He worked in the
Livestock Industry working in the Artificial
Insemination Proofing program when it was an
emerging industry.
He was a volunteer Fireman for the Alexander, New
York Fire Department for 50 years.
James grew up in Sault Ste Marie and Dundalk
Maryland where he liked crabbing. He started a dairy
farm with a herd of registered Holsteins and he
enjoyed working with all animals. He enjoyed fishing
and taking pictures of which he has a collection of
State Capital buildings from all 48 contiguous
states. He also enjoyed traveling in his RV.
Memorials may be made to the First Cumberland
Presbyterian Church in Lincoln.
Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with
funeral arrangements.
