[June 01, 2023]  LINCOLN - Marvin E. Knutilla, 90, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Copper Creek Villages in Lincoln.

Visitation:  10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, at Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home

Obituary

Marvin E. Knutilla, 90, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Copper Creek Villages in Lincoln.

Funeral Services for Mr. Knutilla will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln with Pastor Ellen Anderson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lincoln.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

Marvin Eugene Knutilla was born on January 10, 1933, in Ironwood Michigan, the son of Carl H. and Signe Erickson Knutilla. He was united in marriage to Ruth M. Rajala on September 17, 1955. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2018.

He is survived by his children: Keith (Cynthia) Knutilla, Martin (Judy) Knutilla, Lynn (Steve) Andersen, and Beth (James) Hoferitza; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joann Badouski.

He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, and one grandson.

Funeral Director

Marvin graduated from Ironwood High School in Michigan and then from Valparaiso Tech School in Indiana. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. While in the Navy he circumnavigated the world. Marvin was proud to have completed an Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C.

He retired from IBM as a computer engineer. Marvin enjoyed traveling and he visited many countries. He also enjoyed playing softball in Sebring. In Wheeling, IL, he was a member of the VFW and JAYCEEs, and served as Scoutmaster Commissioner for Troop 212.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
