Redden was hired as assistant general manager
in 2017 by Lawrence Frank, executive vice president of
basketball operations. Redden now is second in command on the
basketball side of the club.
Redden replaces Winger, who departed the organization last month
to become president of Monumental Basketball, owner of the
Washington Wizards, WNBA's Washington Mystics and G-League team
Capital City Go-Go.
"For the past six years, Trent and Mark have been trusted
evaluators, dependable leaders, and for me, close confidantes,"
Frank said in a news release. "Today, we're thrilled to reward
them. A lot of executives have backgrounds in strategy or
evaluation. Trent brings expertise and agility in both. Since he
joined us, Trent has scoured the globe in search of amateur and
pro talent while serving as an integral advisor on every major
decision and acquisition we've made. He is a respected leader
with strong relationships throughout the league."
Winger had been the team's GM since 2017.
Redden previously spent 11 years in the front office of the
Cleveland Cavaliers, rising up the ranks from intern. He worked
there with current Clippers coach Tyronn Lue.
