Obituary
Kurtis Kenning, 59, of Lincoln,
passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
Kurt was born May 15, 1964, in Lincoln, the son of
John C. and Patsy (Sahs) Kenning.
Kurt is survived by his daughter, Skylir Kenning;
mother, Patsy Zgaga; sister, Kirsten Lolling;
stepsister, Jennifer Westendorf; in addition to six
brothers and three more sisters; and three nieces,
two nephews, three great-nieces, and four
great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John,
stepfather, David Zgaga, stepsister, Kerri Zgaga and
his grandparents.
There were many things Kurt did in
his free time. Kurt had a passion for card games,
especially “Magic the Gathering” and “Dungeons and
Dragons.” |
He enjoyed watching the Vikings and
White Sox play. Kurt was a movie buff who could
quote movies he had seen twenty years ago. His array
of music choices varied from Mozart to Metallica.
Kurt was an avid reader, especially enjoying the
Game of Thrones series.
A memorial gathering for Kurt will be held from 4
p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made in Kurt’s name to St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital.
