Obituary
William M. “Mike” White, 75 of
Virginia passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at
HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Mike was born on February 21, 1948, in Springfield.
the son of William Wilcox and Colleen Phelps. He
married Mary L. Ellis on November 19, 2011, in
Hillsboro.
Mike is survived by his wife, Mary, his stepfather
Fred Burrows, children
Bill (Cara) White of Hillsboro, Chad (Michelle)
White of Arnold, Lori (Mike) Webb of Midlothian, TX
John (Tera Blankenship) White of Virginia, his
step-children, William Ellis, Demetrious Arnold,
Shontay Ellis, and Tonica Ellis; his sister, Jan
Petcher; special niece, Michelle Williams; as well
as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and one
son, David White.
Mike enjoyed and loved being around
his family. He was a food connoisseur who had a
passion for cooking and finding the best
restaurants. |
In his younger years Mike loved
spending time in the woods hunting and fishing with
his boys. Mike enjoyed watching sports of all kinds,
but especially his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Mike
was also a member of the First Baptist Church in
Beardstown.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later
date at First Baptist Church in Beardstown.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
Memorial donations may be made in Mike’s name to
HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital in Springfield.
