- James F. Savery, 94, of Lincoln, formerly of
Tucson, AZ, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service and burial for Jim will be held
at a later date in Arizona.

Obituary
James F. Savery, 94, of Lincoln,
formerly of Tucson, AZ, passed away on Sunday, June
25, 2023, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Jim was born September 15, 1928, in Milwaukee, WI,
the son of Wendell and Augusta (Burgmeier) Savery.
He married Shirley Garland Wright on August 6, 1949.
They were married 73 years. She survives.
Jim is also survived by his sons, Steven Savery of
Tucson, AZ, and Daniel (Jeannette) Savery of
Lincoln; grandchildren, Elaine Worth, and Stephanie
Pitts; great-grandchildren, Zachary Menzel, Emma
Menzel, Alyssa Anderson, Bryce Pitts, and Addyson
Pitts. He was the last of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Jim was a member of the Fountain of
Life Lutheran Church in Tucson, AZ. |
He proudly served in World War II and
the Korean War as a member of the United States
Army. Jim was a long-time educator, teaching for
many years at Waukegan High School before retiring.
He liked to fish in his free time. Jim enjoyed
traveling with his wife, Shirley, all over the
world.
A memorial service and burial for Jim will be held
at a later date in Arizona. Cremation rites have
been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln.
