[March 04, 2023]   (Reuters) - There were no blockbuster deals to be made on the National Hockey League's deadline day on Friday but there was an historic swap when the Ritchie brothers Nick and Brett were traded for each other.

In what the NHL said was the first ever trade involving two brothers, the Arizona Coyotes sent physical left winger Nick Ritchie and defenceman Troy Stecher to the Calgary Flames for right wing Brett and defenceman Connor Mackey.

Nick Ritchie, 27, selected 10th overall pick by the Anaheim Ducks in 2014 NHL draft, has nine goals and 12 assists in 58 games this season.

Older brother Brett, 29, a second round pick of the Dallas Stars in the 2011 draft, has six goals, two assists in 34 games.
