[April 04, 2023]  LINCOLN - Boone O’Donoghue, 66 of Lincoln peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, in the comfort of his own home with his loving family by his side.

Visitation:  5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  10 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the funeral home

Obituary

Boone O’Donoghue, 66 of Lincoln peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, in the comfort of his own home with his loving family by his side.

Boone was born on July 9, 1956, in Lincoln. The son of Agnes "Ma" Catherine Alexander O'Donoghue. He married Marsha Ott on November 2, 1985, in Lincoln.

Boone is survived by his wife; his daughter, Kelsey (Mike Trotter) O’Donoghue; His siblings, Tom (Cyndie) O'Donoghue, Mike (Mary) O'Donoghue, Q-Ball (Gail) O'Donoghue, Ruth (Mike) Young, Jinx (Joe) Gleason, Dick (Myretta) O'Donoghue, and Tim (Shirley) O'Donoghue; sisters-in-law: Judy O'Donoghue, Lynn O'Donoghue, and Marsha O’Donoghue; and many nieces and nephews.

Boone was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Punk, Pat, and Denny; his nephew, Wes; and his beloved grand dog, Mac.

 

Boone was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a rock and sand miner for 48 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1978-1981. He enjoyed college basketball, Go ILLINI!, Jeepin’, NASCAR, camping, and the man liked to drink a few beers.

Services for Boone will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, also at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made in Boone’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Full military rites will be accorded by the Lincoln American Legion Post #263 immediately following the services.
