Obituary
Brett A. Simpson, 62, of New Holland,
passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln with his family by his
side.
Graveside Services for Brett will be held on
Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the
Harmony Cemetery in rural Beason with Mrs. Nancy
Otto officiating.
Brett was born on March 12, 1960, the son of Jerry
and Mildred Rhoads Simpson. He was united in
marriage to Patricia “Trish” Sparks on December 28,
2013, but shared ten years of love and friendship
prior.
Brett loved camping, fishing, classic cars, drinking
a few cold ones with friends, animals (especially
his fur baby, Nora), and bantering with his
over-zealous, camera-loving, sister-in-law, Ruth Ann
Sparks.

He is survived by his wife, Trish;
his stepchildren who he loved like his own: Veronica
(Chuck) Tibbs of Philo, Erica (Nicolas) Koonce of
Carbondale, and Dustin (Kristy) Tibbs of New
Holland; five grandchildren: Taylor Ann Thrasher,
Macy Memishee, Maddie Lynne Koonce, Brooklynne
Vincent, and Liyah Carter; one brother, Phil
“Suitcase” Simpson; half-brother, Jerry B. Simpson;
special niece Dawn Renee Simpson Gleason of Lincoln;
and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two
siblings.
Memorials may be made to the family to assist with
funeral expenses. An account is set up at the
Tremont Bank in New Holland.
