Obituary

Steve Connor, 58, passed away February 26, 2023.

Steve was born in Champaign, in November 1969. He lived in Rantoul and Farmer City before attending grade school in Beason and was graduated from Lincoln Community High School. He attended Bradley University before joining the United States Marines where he was stationed at Camp Pendleton and Jejune. After his honorable discharge, Steve worked at Caterpillar in Peoria for several years. He was also a skilled carpenter and worked on many local construction projects.

His hobbies included going on mission trips to build housing for the underprivileged and for many years he was a member of Lincoln Christian Church. He was a talented bowler and took great pride in playing in many leagues with his son, Evan. He also enjoyed the outdoors (including hunting and fishing) and a good game of bags. Steve bravely combated back pain for over a decade before succumbing to complications related to his ailment.

Steve is survived by his father Jerry (Beason), his brothers Bill (Springfield), and Randy (Chicago), and his former wife Anna Seedfelt (Lincoln). He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy, and his only son, Evan.

Services will be held at Holland Barry & Bennett in Lincoln, on Saturday March 11. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m.  Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery outside of Beason.

A Celebration of Life is also being planned for the near future. Please watch Steve's Facebook page for details.
