							Obituary

Clara Beth Waisner of Bend, Oregon
passed away at her home on March 1st, 2023. Beth’s
life began in June of 1958 in San Francisco. Born to
Jeanne and LeRoy Anderson, she spent her formative
years between California and Illinois eventually
graduating in 1977 from Lincoln Community High
							School in central Illinois.
She’s survived by her daughters Alicia (Brad)
Becker, Rebecca “Becky” Waisner, Megan (Matthew)
Elliott; sisters Stacey Pittman and Dawn (Everett)
Crowell; brothers Douglas (Dorene) Anderson, and
							Paul Anderson; grandchildren Jonathan, Payton,
Jillian, Eva, Alivia, Cecilia; and one beautiful
great-grandchild Everlee. This is in addition to the
many other family and friends as well as her
extended Costco family where she was employed. Beth
was preceded in death by her mother Jeanne Pacheco,
father, LeRoy Anderson, brother Jeffrey Anderson,
							and her nephew Joshua Crowell.

Life found Beth back out west in the early 80s where
she raised her daughters with David Waisner in
California and finally, after a move in 1993, to
Bend, Oregon. Beth’s career at Costco was excelling
rapidly and she helped open the location in Bend.
She did so well that Costco corporation selected her
to help open the bakery department in two stores in
South Korea. “Mama Beth,” as some of her coworkers
lovingly knew her, moved out of the bakery and to
the front end where she remained for the rest of her
							career.

Beth loved a warm bath and a good book. She enjoyed
her share of reality TV, Survivor, Big Brother, and
Amazing Race were the favorites. A bouquet of roses
and a box of Dots would have been a shortcut to her
heart. She loved her Shih Tzus, Precious, and Gizmo.
Purple was her color of choice. There’s unanimous
agreement that her strawberry pretzel salad was not
to be missed and if you had invited her for a BBQ
you could count on her bringing the dish. Beth was a
solid bowler and could cut up a square dance floor
as country was her favorite music. She collected
anything Garfield, and bells as well which she
							displayed in her corner hutch.
