MT. PULASKI — Clarence
Wayne Tetley, 85, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, March 7,
2023, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Graveside service will be 12 noon, Friday, March 17,
at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield

Obituary
Clarence Wayne Tetley, 85, of Mt.
Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.
Graveside service will be 12 noon, Friday, March 17,
at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, with
military honors by the U.S. Marines and the Sangamon
County Interveterans Burial Detail.
Memorials in Wayne’s honor may be made to: Christian
Village Memory Care or First Christian Church of Mt.
Pulaski.
Wayne was born October 19, 1937, in Vandalia, the
son of Clarence A. and Augusta M. (Lake) Tetley. He
married Patsy Roche on April 25, 1959 in Decatur.
Wayne proudly served his country. He enlisted in the
U.S. Marine Corps and served for four years, two
years being in Hawaii. At the age of 40, he enlisted
in the U.S. Naval Reserve where he served for 20
years, retiring at the age of 60. Wayne worked in
the auto industry in sales and finance for all of
his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being
outdoors. Wayne was a member of First Christian
Church of Mt. Pulaski. He and his wife Patsy served
in the mission field spreading the love of Jesus
throughout the world.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patsy;
children: Susan (Jeff) Litterly of Lake Fork, Sally
(John) Turner of Beason, Andrew Wayne (Julee) Tetley
of Armstrong, grandchildren: Michael Litterly,
Mitchell Litterly, Morgan (Lee) Litterly-Robinson,
Tyler Litterly, and Grace Tetley; and sister,
Barbara Josserand. |
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
