Jocile was born on February 15, 1923 in Warren,
Indiana , the daughter of Roy S. and Lillian (Stemen)
Click.
She graduated from Warren High School, Class of
1941. She then graduated from secretarial college
and worked as a private secretary for International
Harvester in Fort Wayne, IN.
She married Roger Gerardot on October 22, 1944. They
lived briefly in Lake Charles, La., before settling
in Roger's hometown of New Haven, IN. Then in 1962
Roger, Jocile and their four children decided to
permanently set down roots here in Mt. Pulaski, IL.
Jocile was a loving wife and mother
throughout her life and enjoyed keeping active in
her free time with golf, tennis, and bowling.
When her husband, Roger, was
diagnosed with MS, she took on the role of nurse and
provided excellent care for him throughout his
illness. After the loss of her husband to his
disease, she then cared for her mother for many
years. |
Jocile was an avid traveler
throughout much of her life and saw much of the
United States.
Jocile found love for a second time
with James W. Thwing. They were married on April
19th , 2003 in Mt. Pulaski, IL. and spent many years
traveling across the United States but primarily
split their time between Jocile's home in Mt.
Pulaski and Jim's home in Warner Robins, GA. Even
though she was always on the move in her later
years, family came first for Jocile and she was
always there whether it was a birthday, a baptism,
or a graduation.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies
Auxiliary, a Girl Scout Leader, a Den Mother, and
even a gold metalist in Senior Olympics.
