[May 01, 2023]  LINCOLN - William Riley Kelly, 88, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, in the comfort of his home.

Visitation:  9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home

Obituary

William Riley Kelly, 88, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, in the comfort of his home.

William was born November 24, 1934, in Exeter, MO, the son of Leonard “Paul” and Effie Mae (Long) Kelly. He married Carlene Ramlow and later divorced.

William is survived by his children, Debra (Robert Mundy) Kelly-Graue, and David Riley Kelly; two grandchildren, BreeAnn and Brooke; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Emaline, and Isaac; one sister, Betty Lou Hill; one stepbrother, Gilbert Schriber; three nieces; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Rory.

William proudly served in the US Army as a Presidential Army Guard and a top sharpshooter under President Eisenhower. He enjoyed painting portraits and playing guitar. William was a lifelong carpenter, his talents in woodworking allowed him to build many houses over the years.

Services for William will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will take place two hours prior from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln where full military rites will be accorded by Lincoln American Legion Post #263.

Memorials may be made in William’s name to The American Cancer Society or Humane Society of Logan County.
