Service: Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hartsburg

Obituary

Gerald Rudolph Lolling, 95, of Lincoln, passed away April 22, 2023 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, burial will follow for Marylyn and Gerald in Hartsburg Union Cemetery .

Gerald was born November 4, 1927 in Hartsburg, IL., the son of Rudolph Lolling and Minnie (Swarts) Lolling. He married Marylyn Alice (Lee). She preceded him in death in 2019.
Mr. Lolling proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a tractor mechanic, John Deere enthusiast, and worked for the Lincoln Park District. Gerald was the former mayor of Hartsburg. He was a boy scout master and leader for many years.

 

Survivors include his children: Janice (Colby) Cordray, Gerald (Antonia) Lolling, and Diana (Kevin) Leindl; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother Wayne (Barb) Lolling; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marylyn Lolling, daughter Marian Kay Steigman, granddaughter Carrie Waller, 3 brothers, and an infant sister.

Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Hartsburg and will also be accepted at the funeral home.
