Lady Railers Soccer team is shattering records left and right
Senior Night features five outstanding seniors

Grace Curry, Jessie Emberton, Peyton Merreighn, Hattie Mourning and Imagin Werner were honored on Senior Night Monday, May 8th as members of the 2023 Lady Railers Soccer team. These seniors have had an exceptional season under coach Beth Rayman, shattering records and guiding the team to a 15-7-0 record so far. The team even managed to break some of Coach Beth Rayman’s own records from 15 years ago.

“This season has been amazing,” said Rayman. “The girls have really come together as a team and unit. We coaches have really pushed teamwork and unity this year, and we emulate for the girls what that looks like everyday. This season has been about hard work, teamwork, and what you can achieve when you really push yourself to do your best every minute of every game.”

On Monday night the team hosted East Peoria and picked up a 7-0 win. Grace Curry and Hattie Mourning each had three goals in the win and the defensive back, Makinley Knapp, also scored her first Varsity goal!

The team also picked up a win on Tuesday night at Taylorville. The Lady Railers won 9-0 with Mourning and Curry again scoring three goals each. Imagin Werner and Shay Neeley each scored a goal while this time Jenna Bowman recorded her first Varsity goal!

According to Rayman, so far the Lady Railers have broken 12 records officially with two as a technicality.
