Obituary
Dorothy M. Eeten, 96, of Emden,
passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at her home.
Dorothy was born on May 21, 1926, in Lincoln, the
daughter of Frederick and Florence (Buttell) Schahl.
She married Weldon W. Eeten on September 8, 1951. He
preceded her in death on February 9, 2021.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Brenda
(Billie) Powers of Pekin, and Deanna Eeten of Emden;
one grandson, Joshua Powers of Pekin; one step
great-grandson, Jacob Mathis of Washington, and one
brother, Donald Schahl of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon;
parents; sister, Patricia Schahl; and two brothers,
Robert and Paul Schahl.

Dorothy was a member of St. Peters
Lutheran Church of Emden. She was also a member of
the National Rural Carriers Auxiliary and Emden
Auxiliary.
A graveside service for Dorothy will be held at 11
a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Hartsburg Union
Cemetery in Hartsburg, with Pastor Keith Ray
officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in
Dorothy’s name to Emden Fire and Rescue.
Services have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
