In 2024 futures odds posted just as the Texas
Rangers were celebrating the first World Series title in
franchise history, the Braves are a consensus top choice with
the Dodgers second.
Atlanta, which led the majors with 104 regular-season wins this
year, was listed at +600 at FanDuel, +650 at BetMGM and +700 at
DraftKings to go all the way next year. The Braves lost three
games to one to the Philadelphia Phillies in a National League
Division Series last month.
The Dodgers, who won 100 games this year and finished 16 games
ahead of the eventual NL champion Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL
West, have odds of +700 at FanDuel, +750 at DraftKings and +800
at BetMGM. The Diamondbacks swept the Braves in a three-game
NLDS.
DraftKings and FanDuel both list the past two World Series
champions, Texas and the Houston Astros, as co-third favorites.
The Rangers and Astros are each posted at +800 at FanDuel, +900
at DraftKings.
BetMGM puts the Astros third at +900, followed by the Rangers at
+1000.
The Philadelphia Phillies are the third choice in the National
League at all three books, at +1000 or +1100.
The Diamondbacks, who lost the World Series in five games to the
Rangers, are viewed as unlikely to go one step further next
year. Arizona is listed at +4000 at FanDuel, +3000 at BetMGM and
+2500 at DraftKings.
Among teams that failed to make the playoffs this year, the New
York Yankees have the shortest odds for winning the 2024 World
Series: +1300 at DraftKings, +1600 at FanDuel and BetMGM.
In terms of longshots, the Oakland Athletics and Colorado
Rockies would produce the biggest payout if one of them could
stun the baseball world and win the championship next year. The
A's are at +50000 at BetMGM, +25000 at FanDuel and +15000 at
DraftKings. The Rockies are posted at +25000 at both BetMGM and
FanDuel, +15000 at DraftKings.
