[November 07, 2023]  The Arizona Diamondbacks have extended the contract of manager Torey Lovullo through the 2026 season, according to multiple reports on Monday.

Lovullo guided the Diamondbacks to a stunning World Series appearance. Arizona lost in five games to the Texas Rangers.

After going 84-78 in the regular season, the Diamondbacks defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies in the National League playoffs.

Arizona management previously extended Lovullo's contract through 2024 in early June when the club was off to a 35-24 start.

Lovullo, 58, has a 495-537 record in seven seasons with the Diamondbacks. Nobody has managed the team longer than Lovullo.

Lovullo was NL Manager of the Year in 2017 when he guided Arizona to the playoffs in his first season.

Lovullo also survived a porous 52-110 record in 2021.

The Diamondbacks figure to be in contention for playoff spots in upcoming seasons due to a core that includes probable Rookie of the Year Corbin Carroll, NL Championship Series MVP infielder Ketel Marte, breakout catcher Gabriel Moreno and ace pitcher Zac Gallen.
