[November 03, 2023]    The Lincoln Rotary Club’s annual citrus sale had officially kicked off. The sale is the club’s largest fundraising project for the year.

Nearly 400 cases of citrus were sold last year. Customers have the choice of either Naval Oranges or Red Grapefruit picked, packaged and delivered from Indian River County, Florida.

Several local charities within the community benefit greatly from the club’s fundraising efforts. A portion of the funds are used to support the Family Literacy Project, supplying books to kindergarten students in the Lincoln school districts.

“Citrus Sales from Lincoln Rotary has become a Lincoln tradition and we are so very grateful to the community for it’s continued support,” said Michelle Bauer, the new chair. She is attempting to fill the tremendously large shoes of Don Jordan. Jordan was the chair for over 15 years. “Don Jordan worked for years to build relationships with the customers and was a tremendous example of the Rotary moto ‘Service Above Self’.” She was happy to give him the break he so deserved and take his advice moving forward.
