Tyson Walker scored 14 points to help No. 4 Michigan State
earn a 74-51 home win over Southern Indiana on Thursday in East
Lansing.
Jaden Akins had 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals to help
the Spartans rebound from a season-opening upset loss to James
Madison on Monday. After going 1-of-20 from 3-point range against
James Madison, Michigan State wasn't much better against Southern
Indiana, going 1-of-11 from 3-point territory.
But the Spartans had 10 players make a field goal in the game.

31.7 percent from the field overall (19 of 60) and committed 15
turnovers.

Isaiah Collier put up 19 points to lead five scorers in double
figures for the Trojans, who cruised past the Roadrunners in Los
Angeles.
USC (2-0) never trailed and opened up a double-digit-point lead
before the game's first media timeout with a hot and balanced
offensive start. Four of the five Trojans starters scored in the
game's first four minutes.

Kaleb Higgins matched Collier's game highs with 19
points and five assists to lead Cal State Bakersfield (1-1). Cameron
Wilbon added 10 points for the Roadrunners, and Ugnius Jarusevicius
scored six points in the loss.
No. 23 Saint Mary's 72, New Mexico 58
Aidan Mahaney scored a game-high 25 points and the Gaels never
trailed while beating the Lobos in Moraga, Calif.
Mahaney canned 9 of 19 shots and 5 of 10 3-point attempts for Saint
Mary's (2-0), which opened up a double-figure lead just over five
minutes into the game while avenging a loss to the Lobos last
season. Harry Wessels came off the Saint Mary's bench to add 12.
Donovan Dent scored 15 points for New Mexico (1-1), and Nelly Junior
Joseph chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds. However, Jamal Mashburn
Jr., the team's leading scorer in a Monday win over Texas Southern,
converted just 3 of 16 shots from the field and finished with only
seven points.
