[October 27, 2023]  MT. PULASKI - Mark L. Van Rheeden, 59, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at his home.

Visitation:  Monday, October 30th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Service Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski

Service:  10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31st at the funeral home

Obituary

Mark LaRue Van Rheeden, 59, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at his home.

Mark was born on March 31st, 1964, in Lincoln, the son of Louis and Carol (Volle) Van Rheeden. He married Sally Throgmorton on February 1st, 1994, in Decatur. She survives.

Mark is also survived by his two sons: Maxwell (Becca) Van Rheeden, and Samuel (Adri Costa) Van Rheeden, his mother: Carol, granddaughter: Ainsley , and brother: Richard (Rebecca Blair) Van Rheeden.

He is preceded in death by his father, and a special cousin: Mary Jeannette “Cookie” Johnston.

 

Mark was a member of the Mt. Pulaski Christian Church. He was also a benefactor member of the NRA, and owned and operated his own firearms business, MVR Firearms. Mark was a longtime pharmacist and was associated and worked for many pharmacies in the area, including Family Drug, Schnucks, Walmart, Walgreens, and Pharmerica.

A funeral service for Mark will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31st at Fricke-Calvert-Service Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski. The visitation will be on Monday, October 30th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Mark’s memory to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research or the Logan County Paramedics Association (LCPA).
