The
Lady Railers volleyball team arrived back in Lincoln on Saturday
night around 10:00 p.m. and the team was given a police escort back
to Lincoln Community High School. As the white Railers bus traveled
down Kickapoo Street, the players were hanging out of the windows,
waving to fans.
As the players and coaches entered Roy S. Anderson Gymnasium, Taryn
Stoltzenburg was leading the way, carrying the heavy 2nd place
trophy. Kloe Froebe was right behind Stoltzenburg with the game
ball. Becca Heitzig came jogging into the gym next, and the team,
managers and coaching staff followed close behind.
Athletic Director Neil Alexander was the first to grab the
microphone and congratulate the girls and he was followed by
Superintendent Dwight Stricklin, who thanked the girls for making
this a season one for the record books. Principal David Helm spoke
next and he said kind words about the girls and told them, "I am so
proud of you. You make Lincoln proud."
Head Coach Kaylee Lowery also spoke and kept the thank you's going
and she made mention of some of the individual records that were
broken this season.

Co-captain Alyssa Company also spoke briefly before
Neil Alexander invited players, family and fans to take pictures
with the trophies on display.
All of the moms also posed with their daughters and
that made for a really nice memory.
Some little fans even got autographs and longtime Railer supporters
Wayne and Patsy Zurkhammer were on hand to congratulate their
neighbor girl, Peyton Sasse.
Really and truly, with friends and family surrounding the players,
the gym was full of smiles.
Playing at CEFCU Arena on the last day of the season is a goal that
very few athletes attain and the girls can be very proud of a
successful season.
Congratulations, Lady Railers!
