Joannie Kay Vincent, 65, of Edinburg, formerly of Lincoln, passed away at 11:18 a.m. Friday November 10, 2023, at her residence.

Joannie was born on February 1, 1958, to Donald L. and Alice Marie (Landers) Thornton. She married Duane Vincent on May 26, 2001, in Springfield.

Surviving are her husband Duane, children, Tenika Hervey of Aurora, Michael (Sandra) March of Lincoln, her grandchildren, Chloe Vincent of Edinburg, Cuyler Hadden of Edinburg, Chase March of Lincoln, and one brother, Donald (Jill) Thornton of Auburn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Eva Letterle and one granddaughter, Makhiya Thomas.

Joannie worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 32 years as an Engineer Tech, was a foster parent for many years, enjoyed baking, loved her grandchildren very much and was the glue that held the family together.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, is entrusted with arrangements.
