- Elmira “Jeannie” Mileham-Smith, 61, of Springfield,
formerly of Lake Fork, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023,
at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Obituary
Elmira “Jeannie” Mileham-Smith, 61,
of Springfield, formerly of Lake Fork, passed away
on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Springfield
Memorial Hospital.
Jeannie was born October 19, 1962, in Lincoln, the
daughter of Dean and Alberta (Hogan) Mileham. She
married Harry “Butch” Smith on June 20, 2021, in
Springfield.
Jeannie is survived by her husband, Butch;
daughters, Deanna (Clarence Jones) Shehorn, and
Deidre Schaffenacker; grandchildren, Desi (Reggie
Dickerson) Combs, Dawson (Sam) Combs, and Lennon
Janssen; four great-grandchildren; her siblings,
Gary (Tammy Skaggs) Mileham, Terry (Charity) Mileham,
and Jamie (Samantha) Mileham; her supportive uncle,
Eddie Mileham; and sister-in-law, Sandra Mileham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters,
Deanna Kay Mileham and Linda Radtke; and brother,
William Mileham.

Jeannie was an Elvis fanatic. She
loved her cat, Lacey and scratch off lottery
tickets. Jeannie was always helping others and
keeping track of appointments. Cooking was not her
specialty, but she liked to keep a clean house.
Jeannie was a supporter of the VFW and a member of
Post #10302 in Springfield, where she served as
chaplain for the Ladies Auxiliary. Hobbies included
being outside, shopping, and above all else being
with her family.
Services for Jeannie will be held at 11:00 am on
Thursday, November 16, 2023, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
Visitation will take place two hours prior from 9:00
am - 11:00 am. A burial will be held at Carlyle
Cemetery in Lake Fork at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Jeannie’s family, in the
care of Harry Smith.
