Meet the Railers Night - Girls Basketball

The wait is almost over! The 2023-24 girls basketball season at LCHS is about to get underway and on Tuesday night the team scrimmaged in front of fans at Roy S. Anderson Gymnasium at Meet the Railers Night - Girls Basketball.

The anticipation of this season has been building since March 5, 2023, the day after the team placed 2nd in state in the IHSA Class 3A State Girls Basketball tournament at CEFCU Arena in Normal.

Every starter from that Lady Railers basketball team is returning for their senior year and expectations are high. Those returning starters are (L to R) Jenna Bowman, Kloe Froebe, Becca Heitzig, Taryn Stoltzenburg, and Tori Geriets

Head coach Taylor Rohrer also returns, along with her assistants, Cory Farmer and Grace Bossingham.

Last year’s state runner-up team finished with a record of 36 wins and one loss.

The Junior Varsity team will begin their season this Friday, November 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lincoln JV Tournament at Roy S. Anderson. The JV team will also play on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The Varsity team will begin their season next Friday, November 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. versus Peoria Richwoods in the Morton Tournament. At 3:15 p.m. on Friday the Lady Railers will play Champaign Central in the Morton Tournament.

On Saturday, November 25, 2023 the Morton Tournament will continue with Lincoln playing East St. Louis at 1:30 p.m. and Morton at 5:00 p.m.
