announces annual essay contest theme

The
American Legion Auxiliary of Lincoln supports Americanism and
Patriotism and is sponsoring an Americanism Essay Contest to help
instill in our students the ideals of Americanism, Patriotism and
Good Citizenship.
The topic for the essay is ”Why Am I Proud to be an American?”. The
contest is open to all students in the 7th through 12th grades in
the local Lincoln schools, and those home-schooled. Area grade
schools and the high school guidance department have been given the
information and guidelines for the contest.

Essays must be received by February 2, 2024 and can be turned
into the students’ school, the American Legion Post, or mailed
to Diane Farmer, 1209 700th Avenue, Lincoln, IL 62656.
