The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers picked up their
first win on the season Wednesday night in the 13th Annual Bill
Rucks Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament.
The Hilltoppers dominated the Tri-City/Sangamon Valley Tornadoes
and won by a final score of 56-35.
Mount Pulaski led 17-3 at the end of the first quarter with
Franklin Wade leading all scorers with six points.
By halftime Mount Pulaski was up 28-8.
At the end of the third quarter, Mount Pulaski was on top 38-26.
The Hilltoppers poured in 18 points in the fourth quarter, with
Wade and Beau Tschantz combining for eleven points.
With the 56-35 victory the Hilltoppers improve to 1-1 on the
season.
Franklin Wade led Mount Pulaski with 18 points.
Beau Tschantz tossed in 13 points for the Hilltoppers.
The Hilltoppers will play Clinton tonight at 8:00 p.m. as the
tournament continues.
